How Often Do Goldendoodles Need To Be Walked?

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am not always enthused about walking my Goldendoodle.  Sometimes I feel like she needs more exercise than me.  Is anyone interested in knowing more about walking their Goldendoodles?

If you are, follow along and see what I discovered yesterday!

How often do Goldendoodles need to be walked?

Goldendoodles need to be walked for at least thirty minutes per day. Then mix in an hour or two of additional exercise per day. You will want to feel out your doodle to determine how much or how little exercise they enjoy.

These other activities and games exercise Goldendoodles just as if they were walking.  Generally speaking, it is a good idea for Goldendoodles to be walked or exercised two or three times a day.

This is not a rule of thumb, just a guide.  If Goldendoodles need to be walked or exercised on some days and go for four walks or two and have some playtime, it matters not.

Whether or not Goldendoodles need this exercise to be in the form of a walk is up to their pet parent.  How often they need to be walked or exercised will depend on how the exercise will fit into the daily schedule.

Goldendoodles will need to be walked or exercised a bit more than other dogs because they have lots of energy.  Often, pet parents will take their Goldendoodles out to be walked or exercised a few times a day.

Perhaps first thing in the morning, then in the afternoon or after returning from work, and then again after dinner or before bed.  Goldendoodle puppies will need to be walked or exercised less often than an adult or senior Goldendoodles.

Adult or senior Goldendoodles are using less energy because they are not growing and developing.  These Goldendoodles need to be walked or exercised more often than puppies to expel their energy.

How often Goldendoodles are walked, whether once a day or five times, will always benefit both the pet parents and Goldendoodles’ health since exercise promotes overall health and well-being.

It is a good idea to have specific tools for any walking adventure, no matter how often Goldendoodles are walked. Typical weather patterns will require different tools and items to make the walking adventure safe for both pet parents and Goldendoodles.

When trying to determine how often Goldendoodles will need to be walked, it is vital to remember it doesn’t always have to be a walk, but it should be fun.

Goldendoodles are hybrid dogs that have lots of energy to expel.  Athletic, enthusiastic, and adventuresome, their personality is all about fun and exercise.  This energy doesn’t mean that Goldendoodles need to be walked or exercised for tremendous amounts of time throughout a day.  Goldendoodles do, however, need plenty of exercises to keep them fit, happy, and out of trouble from boredom.

These dogs will need to be walked as often as their pet parents wish to take them for a walk.  Goldendoodles need to receive approximately one to two hours of exercise a day that can come in the form of being walked, playtime, or other adventures.  It is a good idea for Goldendoodles to be walked at least thirty minutes of that time daily.

How often they are walked will be determined by their pet parent or family.  Perhaps two fifteen-minute walks per day for Goldendoodles combined with another half hour or hour of other activities.  Some pet parents will choose to do one walk per day for thirty minutes with the rest of the time as other fun activities.  Still, some pet parents might provide three ten minute walks, and then the remaining time is spent going on adventures together.

Choices for how often Goldendoodles need to be walked or exercised are as endless as the exercise activities themselves.  The main idea should be exercise, fun and time together.

Goldendoodles that are puppies will need to be walked or exercised less often than their adult and senior counterparts because they are expelling more of their energy towards development and growth.  These puppies will also tire out easier since they are so little and developing so much.

Adult and senior Goldendoodles will need to be walked or exercised more often because they have finished growing and developing.  They will need to have an outlet for their energy and enthusiasm for life.

Whether or not Goldendoodles need to be walked versus exercised is up to the pet parents, but it is always a good idea they receive some time going for a walk with their loved ones.
